Shrove Tuesday

The Tuesday before Lent begins is traditionally a time of celebration and feasting. Saint Philip’s invites everyone to a Mardi Gras-themed pancake supper and other festivities on Tuesday, February 13.

5:30pm in the Murphey Gallery: pancake supper with a gluten-free option. Children 12 and younger eat for free; the suggested $10.00 donation for adults will support the 2024 Youth Residency & Pilgrimage.

6:15pm in the Children’s Courtyard: pancake race. Please bring your own frying pan.

6:30pm in the Children’s Courtyard: burying of Alleluias. During Lent the “Alleluia” isn’t said liturgically so to symbolize that fact strips of paper with “Alleluia” written on them are buried in the ground.

6:45pm in the Fish Pond Garden: burning of the palms to create the ashes used in Ash Wednesday services.
