Schedule change

Members of Saint Philip’s Fiber Guild usually gather at 10:30am every Saturday for a hybrid meeting in room 10 and via Zoom. But the meeting for tomorrow, Saturday, November 25, has been canceled.

Knitters and crocheters of all skill levels are welcome at these gatherings, and instruction is available for beginners. Donated yarn and needles are available to those who need them.

This ministry’s primary mission is to create prayer shawls for parishioners and their loved ones who are ill, bereaved, or going through a difficult time. Shawls are blessed by clergy throughout the year and then distributed during in-person, pastoral visits.

The group also creates hats and scarfs to donate to the Seaman’s Institute of New York’s Christmas at Sea project. These are distributed to seamen from around the word who come into US ports during the holiday season. The prayer shawl ministry partners with Saint Philip’s children and youth to create Christmas cards that accompany the hats and scarves.

If you have questions or would like to participate, contact parishioners Helene Woodhams at helenewoodhams@comcast.net or Linda Dewey at ldewey2020@gmail.com.
