Training completed

Saint Philip’s is the proud sponsor of a one-mile section of Campbell Avenue north of Skyline Drive. To maintain the sponsorship—and have a fancy sign erected—volunteers need to clean the road of litter at least twice a year. Anyone 14 years or older can participate.

This past Tuesday, February 7, parishioners Greg Silva, John Waszczak, and staff member Mtr Mary attended a 30-minute training session with the Department of Transportation. They can now educate volunteers on protocols and safety measures.

The first clean-up event will take place mid-morning on Saturday, March 11. The plan is to spend about 90 minutes clearing any litter and then returning to Saint Philip’s for pizza and drinks. Volunteers will also get to wear brightly colored vests. A fun time!

Please contact Mtr Mary at mary.trainor@stphilipstucson.org if you would like to participate in this Creation Care ministry opportunity.
