Another step forward

Saint Philip’s program year is focused on creation care, and another step has been taken to live into that. The parish applied to sponsor a nearby roadway and the application was granted! Many thanks to parishioner John Waszczak for all his work to make this happen.

The one-mile section of road that Saint Philip’s will sponsor is Campbell Avenue north of Skyline Drive.

To maintain the sponsorship—and have a fancy sign erected—volunteers will clean the road of litter at least twice a year. This effort is open to everyone 14 years and older.

The Department of Transportation will provide bags, picks, and brightly colored safety vests for volunteers to wear.

Before the fun can begin, supervisors need to attend a 30-minute training session. They, in turn, will then educate volunteers on protocols and safety measures.
