Be part of a masterpiece

Artists at Santa Theresa Tile Works are creating a new rendering of the 1979 painting by Barbara Falk. It captures the beauty and splendor of a Blessing of the Animals service at Saint Philip’s. When complete, the 100-pound mosaic piece will hang on the south wall of the historic animal fountain. This piece will be the largest one of the triptych that is envisioned—and will hang in the middle.

The artwork will be unveiled as part of the Blessing of the Animals activities beginning at 8:30am on Saturday, October 8. It will also launch Saint Philip’s program year devoted to creation care.

Saint Philip’s is seeking donations of $4,500.00 to complete this middle piece of the triptych. To date, $1,500.00 of the $6,000.00 cost has already been given. You can make a secure on-line donation by clicking the button below and selecting “Blessing Mosaic” from the drop-down options.

Once this current artwork is completed, planning for the side panels can begin. The vision is to invite people to memorialize their pets in the mosaic panels by making a donation. Details will follow once the project has reached that stage.
