(B) Request that a registration form be mailed to you by your County Recorder. Upon receipt, enter the requested information and mail the completed form back.

After you have registered to vote, you will receive a voter registration card in the mail within 4-6 weeks.

Accepted Proof of Citizen Information
A person must be a United States citizen in order to register and vote. If you have an Arizona driver’s license or non-operating identification card, you will need only to list your license number on the voter registration form. If you do not have an Arizona license you may need to provide one of the following documents to establish proof of citizenship:

  1. Supporting legal documentation (i.e., marriage certificate);

  2. Legible photocopy of the pertinent pages of your passport;

  3. U.S. naturalization documents or your Alien Registration Number;

  4. Your Indian Census Number, Bureau of Indian Affairs Card Number, Tribal Treaty Card Number, or Tribal Enrollment Number; or

  5. A photocopy of your Tribal Certificate of Indian Blood or Bureau of Indian Affairs Affidavit of Birth.

Mail in Voting
You can sign up for the Active Early Voting List (AEVL) when you register to vote or submit a written AEVL request form. You must sign up 11 days before Election Day. Voters on the AEVL are automatically sent a ballot-by-mail for all elections in which they are eligible to vote.

If you do not want to sign up for the AEVL, you can request a ballot-by-mail just for the 2022 elections.

There are four options to request a one-time ballot by mail:

  1. Online—Use the Secretary of State’s online portal;

  2. Telephone—Call the County Recorder;

  3. Mail—Print, complete, and sign the ballot-by-mail request form; or

  4. Email—Send an email to your County Recorder.

Find your county’s information at the State of Arizona’s website.

Vote in Person
You must vote in the county in which you are registered. Polling places and early voting locations can be found online at Arizona’s Voter Information Portal.

You can also contact your County Recorder.

If English is not your primary language, you may want to call the County Recorder phone number as there are a variety of languages available. Polls are open from 6:00am-7:00pm.

During early voting you can vote in any early voting location in your county. Some Arizona counties use vote centers. These are voting locations open on Election Day to every eligible voter in the county. Voters can visit any vote center in their county to receive and cast their official ballot. Check for when the voting sites are open as times may vary by location.

The voting marshal will allow everyone already in line to vote at 7:00pm to cast their vote—regardless of how long that takes. However, election workers appreciate voters arriving early to avoid lines. That makes life easier for everyone.
