Opportunity knocks

At last Sunday’s forum, choir members talked about their experience with the UK Residency program at Wells Cathedral. I was moved to hear how deeply affected the choristers were by singing in England. The choir parents, too, spoke about their life-changing experience.

I'm thrilled to announce that Saint Philip’s is beginning to plan the next UK Residency in July of 2024! The particular cathedral selected for the residency will be announced once details are confirmed.

Youth choristers are generally asked to have two years of experience (depending on their skill level) before serving in a residency. That means there is a significant opportunity for youth who join the Saint Nicholas Choir this year.

Your child could be singing in the 2024 residency, surrounded by committed colleagues and church family, and building new skills that will last a lifetime. Remember, too, that Saint Philip’s raises funds to support the youth choristers' participation in residency.

I believe that membership in the Saint Nicholas Choir and its associated benefits, especially the UK Residency, hits a sweet spot: it delivers elements of outreach, offers musical education, and assists spiritual formation.

Your child can be a part of this ministry. No musical experience is required to join.

Please be in touch and I will be happy to tell you more about the choir and residency.
