Volunteer opportunity

Claire Miller is a Beloved in the Desert Service Corps Member who interns with the Community Food Bank (CFB). She is helping organize inter-generational volunteers (ages 12 and older) for “Stamp Out Hunger” —the largest one-day food drive in the nation.*

On Saturday, May 14, volunteers will join staff from the CFB and gather at 12 different post offices across Tucson. They will help unload postal trucks filled with food and sort the items on-site.

Most shifts are 3-4 hours long and will need 20-30 volunteers for the busiest times of day.

*"Stamp Out Hunger" is a large-scale version of what Saint Philip’s Feeding Ministry does with its First Sunday food drives. Saint Philip’s other ministry, San Pasqual’s Cocina, provides occasional meals to parishioners experiencing a disruptive life event. Through both these ministries, volunteers serve Christ by serving others through food.

Thank you!
