New staff

Saint Philip’s is pleased to welcome two new staff members: Cheryle Johnson and Shelby Parsons. Both positions report to Mtr Mary Trainor, the parish’s Business Administrator.

Cheryle Johnson will staff the welcome/reception desk on the following days and hours:

Mondays and Wednesdays 9:00am-1:00pm
Tuesdays and Thursdays 1:00pm-5:00pm.

Cheryle is originally from southwestern Pennsylvania where her son and grandson still reside. She spent five years in Florida before moving to Tucson in 2020 to join her daughter who lives here.

Listening to music, dining out, attending festivals, and meeting new people are some of Cheryle’s favorite pastimes. She also loves short road trips and is excited to explore the beauty of Arizona. Cheryle is delighted about her new position at Saint Philip’s.

Shelby Parsons succeeds Anthea McCarty as the parish’s bookkeeper. She is on campus during regular office hours.

Texas is where Shelby was born but she grew up around the globe as a military brat. She is a wife, mother of two children, Sadie (4) and Simeon (3), and a servant of the Lord.

When not working at Saint Philip’s, Shelby and her family run a micro-ranch in rural Vail called Rocky Vista. They raise Nigerian dwarf goats for dairy, organic eggs, grow an heirloom garden, and have a trusty livestock guardian dog, Aslan, who oversees and protects them all.

Shelby’s previous experience as Bookkeeper and Operations Manager for Kampgrounds of America (KOA) contributed greatly to her ability to step into her new role at Saint Philip’s so quickly and ably.
