Young ambassadors

As part of the upcoming diocesan convention, Saint Philip’s will host 15-20 youth (in grades 6-12) from the Phoenix area.

Saint Philip’s youth; volunteers Matti Bowen, Peggy Rowe, and Jordan Paul; and (from the diocese) the Rev’d Jana Sundin and a planning team have created a full schedule.

Friday, October 21
Saint Philip’s youth will help prepare the Mercado San Agustin Annex for NightSong—the Compline service offered to the wider Tucson community. The youth will erect an art table, place candles, hang signs, etc. to prepare for other young people who will attend.

After Nightsong, the youth will enjoy dinner downtown before returning to Saint Philip’s. Evening activities will include a brief “Reconciled in Christ: Becoming Beloved Community” introduction, followed by art and games.

Saturday, October 22
After a quick breakfast in the Murphey Gallery, the youth will attend Eucharist at the convention. They will then participate in a service project, gather for lunch, and conclude, “Reconciled in Christ: Becoming Beloved Community” before disbanding.

When you see any of Saint Philip’s 6-12 graders, consider congratulating them on participating in this important hospitality initiative!

There is still time for young people to register and participate. See the flyer below.
