Special clothing drive

This Sunday, September 8, parishioners are invited to donate items for Casa Alitas.

Casa Alitas is a humanitarian aid project of Catholic Community Services that is committed to providing assistance to asylum-seekers released from ICE and Border Patrol detention into the Tucson community. Volunteers offer support by providing hospitality which includes housing, food, clothing, toiletries, advocacy, and travel assistance.

If you’d like to learn more about Casa Alitas, ask parishioners Kelsi Vanada and John Koza, both of whom volunteer for this Tucson nonprofit.

Donations can be left next to the church’s side entrance on Sunday or left in the Murphey Gallery during office business hours (9:00am-5:00pm Monday-Thursday).

Clothing for Women & Teen Girls
* Brand new underwear—sizes 5, 6, 7
* New or gently used bras—sizes S, M, L (Small sizes are especially needed, as are nursing bras)
* New or gently used shoes—sizes 8 and higher (including half sizes)
* New or gently used sweatshirts, jackets, and hoodies—sizes S, M
* New or gently used lycra pants—sizes S, M, L

Clothing for Men & Teen Boys
* New or gently used shirts (including t-shirts and golf shirts)—sizes S, M, L
* No camouflage patterns and appropriate printed messages only. Dress shirts not needed.
* Jeans and casual pants—men’s sizes 26-32 waist; boy’s sizes 2-20
* New or gently used sweatpants, athletic pants, shorts—sizes S, M, L (athletic shorts and golf shorts appreciated; no camouflage patterns)
* Shoes, men’s sizes 8-11 (including half sizes)
* New or gently used casual shoes 
* New or gently used sweatshirts, jackets and hoodies—sizes S, M, L (Zipper hoodies especially appreciated)

Clothing for Children
* Brand new underwear for boys and girls—sizes 2T -14
* Brand new or gently used t-shirts, knit shirts—all kids’ sizes 6-18
* Brand new or gently used pants and shorts—all kids’ sizes 2-16
* Brand new or gently used toddler pants (critical items)—sizes 2-5
* New or gently used baseball caps, summer or winter hats

Toiletries for Children & Adults
* Travel size toothpaste
* Travel size hand sanitizer
* Travel size shaving cream
* Travel size deoderant
* Combs
* Hair brushes
* Hair ties
* Diapers—sizes 2-7

Miscellaneous Needs
* Lap blankets for plane and bus travel
* Backpacks
* Shoelaces
