Opening night success

On Monday, October 17, Saint Philip’s launched its new dinner concert series. Its mission is to provide a performance opportunity for rising musical stars in the Tucson area. The events feature an hour of special chamber music, preceded by a light supper.

The inaugural event was a rousing success! More than fifty people attended the dinner and concert, and reviews from guests and the musicians’ teachers were enthusiastically positive.

The young high school musicians rose to the occasion for one of their first professional performances.

Homero Cerón, percussionist:
“The Saint Philip's community is a tremendous pillar of support. Please let everyone know how I feel.”

Dr Ji-Young Kim, pianist:
“Thank you for organizing this concert series! The ensemble was outstanding with such mature artistry, and the technical mastery of each musician was impressive. I also appreciated the audience’s enthusiasm.”

Dr. Suzette Battan, Director of the Tucson Philharmonia Youth Orchestra:
“The concert was terrific! Holding the concert in the sanctuary offered a particularly special setting. The acoustics are fabulous.”

Sally Evans (concert attendee):
“Thanks for working so hard to create such a lovely event to showcase such amazing talent!”

Jane Prescott–Smith (concert attendee):
“Thank you for this amazing evening.”

Mark your calendars for future dates: Monday, February 20 and Monday, April 17.
