Laundry Love support

Laundry Love is an outreach ministry of Saint Philip’s that partners with Interfaith Community Services (ICS) and Northgate Laundromat. Volunteers assemble individual packages that contain a sheet with details (instructions, directions, times, etc.), 3 detergent pods, 3 dryer sheets, and 3 prepaid “gift cards” worth $4.00 each. The packages are distributed by ICS every week and the gift cards are redeemable for one regular wash and one regular dryer load at Northgate Laundromat.

Saint Philip’s is very grateful to the parishioners of Northwest Community Friends Church (aka The Society of Friends or Quakers) for their support of Laundry Love through volunteers and donations.

Quaker member Cliff Franks (1935-2021) was an initial organizer of Laundry Love. He was well known for carrying around and loudly shaking his Laundry Love donation jar to encourage a steady input of quarters; his successful fund-raising efforts are legendary.

Since Cliff’s death last November, Pastor Adam Kemper and his parshioners, Pam Marchbanks and Siew Lilley, have continued his work.

Just this past week they donated 17 packages of supplies along with a very generous donation of $204. It is a joy to have the enthusiastic partnership of Northwest Community Friends Church and Saint Philip’s extends a spirited thank you!

Members of Saint Philip’s are encouraged to support Laundry Love with monetary donations—U.S. coins, cash, or checks/online donations are all welcome. Checks can be made payable to “Saint Philip’s Church” with “Laundry Love” written in the memo line. Online donations can be made through Saint Philip’s secure website when you select “Laundry Love” from the drop-down menu.

Thank you!
