Adult Choirs to sing this Sunday

The Saint Philip's Singers and Canterbury Choir have been rehearsing together for the last several weeks. This coming Sunday, October 3, our choirs will present anthems for the 10:00am service: I was glad by Charles H. H. Parry and O clap your hands by Ralph Vaughan Williams. This is the first time our choirs have sung in service since last spring.

As we resume choral singing and rehearsing, we do so while being mindful of the natural risks, while weighing them against the considerable benefits of being together and serving the liturgy. Also, with the ongoing possibility of breakthrough infections, we are following recommended mitigation strategies to help keep each other safe.

These mitigation strategies include 1) limiting rehearsal times; 2) using two different rehearsal venues; 3) maintaining spacing for rehearsal and for worship services; 4) always using a mask properly; 5) not attending rehearsal or worship if not feeling well; 6) hand-washing; 7) avoiding contact with others (no hugging); 8) social visiting limited to outside.

We are looking forward to contributing live music to the service and resuming a vital part of our communal life this Sunday. We hope this contribution will be a blessing to everyone who attends, whether in person or virtually.
