Meet God at the Movies

When Meet God at the Movies gathers this coming Monday, members of Saint Philip’s online discussion group will talk about The Mission, a 1986 British period drama film about the experiences of a Jesuit missionary in 18th-century South America.[4] Directed by Roland Joffé and written by Robert Bolt, the film stars Robert De Niro, Jeremy Irons, Ray McAnally, Aidan Quinn, Cherie Lunghi, and Liam Neeson. (More from Wikipedia.)

Discussion of The Mission will take place at 6:30pm on Monday, October 18. Anyone may join at any time, for one movie or more. Register here. Participants watch the movie on their own, and gather via Zoom to plumb the film for theological content, especially looking for themes of creation, sin, repentance, and redemption.
