Dear friends in Christ...

Saint Philip’s is part of a network of agencies getting ready for an unknown number of Afghan Ally refugees destined for Tucson. In conversation with Episcopal Migration Ministries, the church learned that possibly hundreds of refugees may be arriving here. There are not a lot of specifics available yet, but we want to be as ready to help as we possibly can be. So we turn to you for help.

Here is a link to a form where you can indicate how you are able to be involved. There are three categories:

  • Can you give funding, and how much? (this may be used for food, legal services, furniture, transportation, educational materials, and more)

  • Can you provide housing for a definite or indefinite period?

  • Do you have time and talent you are willing to offer, e.g., reading to children, driving to appointments, employment coaching, English support, listening and friendship, haircutting, or other services? The list is endless.

Please fill out the form as soon as possible so that we can gauge our response. This is a developing situation and we appreciate your openness and responsiveness to welcoming our neighbors. These Afghan allies put their lives at risk to help us because they had heard of the promise of America—let’s help make that promise real. If you have any questions, please be in touch with Dcn Leah.

God bless you and, as always, thank you for your generosity.
