Help fund new microphones

If you would like to contribute to our effort to offer clearer music to the parish and better recording capabilities for the musicians, you can give by writing a check to the church and placing Wish List-Technology in the memo; or go to the website giving section, and choose Wish List-Technology from the drop down menu.

Staff member Chris Campbell did much research for Saint Philip’s, which has decided to acquire two sets of Schoeps MK2s microphones which will be hung from the ceiling of the sanctuary. Each set of these microphones will cost us about $3,500.00, totaling about $7,000.00 that we need. As such we are reaching out to the community to help raise the money.

We are looking to invest in these new microphones specifically for our musicians, as our audio system was not designed for recording high-fidelity sound. Our hope is to provide those who are joining us from home the ability to fully enjoy the musical offerings of our choirs and organist.

If you would like to see/hear these microphones in action here are a few recordings using them:

These microphones will be a continuation of Saint Philip’s effort throughout the pandemic to adapt and provide the best possible online worship experience we can. Now, as we slowly begin our reopening efforts, we want to continue improving the online worshiping experience. With the help of Jonathan Sprinkle we are now equipped with four amazing cameras and control equipment to facilitate high-quality video for our live-streams. Now, with your help, we can soon have microphones to match this quality.
