Tradition continues

On the Tuesday before Lent begins, the fronds from Palm Sunday are burnt and the embers used to mark the sign of the cross on foreheads during the Ash Wednesday services. And to symbolize the fact that during Lent the “Alleluia” isn’t said liturgically until Easter, strips of paper with “Alleluia” written on them are buried in the ground.

All are invited to participate in both events at 6:00pm on Tuesday, March 1. Everyone will gather at the fish pond garden. Contact Fr Peter Helman at peter.helman@stphilipstucson.org with any questions.
