Meal ministry

A reminder as Thanksgiving approaches that Saint Philip’s has a meal delivery ministry: San Pasqual's Cocina. It is named after the patron saint of cooks who was a lay Franciscan friar in 16th-century Spain. As the story goes, the other friars in the abbey observed that San Pasqual appeared to meditate as he performed his kitchen duties.

Like the ministry’s patron saint, the volunteer members of San Pasqual's Cocina offer fellow parishioners both prayers and the blessing of food.

If you would appreciate help with a meal or a few days' worth of meals—or if you're aware of a parishioner who might appreciate this ministry—please contact Dcn Susan Erickson at susanerickson27@gmail.com.

And if you would like to volunteer with San Pasqual's Cocina, please let Dcn Susan know. You don't have to be a cook; you can provide meals by purchasing pre-prepared foods at stores such as Whole Foods.

Thank you!
