Bikes for the Beloved

Beloved in the Desert is part of the Episcopal Service Corps whose mission is to form an intentional community for young adults that fosters beloved Christian disciples through service, study, and prayer in the Tucson borderlands. For more information click here.

A few weeks ago, we asked for donations of bikes for the Beloved in the Desert Episcopal Service Corps members. The corps members serve at non-profits and faith-based organizations throughout Tucson for 32 hours per week, engage in the life of the church, Episcopal Campus Ministry, and in social justice education and action throughout the community while living simply and in community with one another.

Well…some very generous members of the Saint Philip’s community answered the call!

A huge, bountiful, manifold THANK YOU to Ronnie Moore and Sally Taylor for their donations! There are now enough bikes for each Beloved member to travel to work, to explore Tucson, to go on group bike rides, and more. Already several of the members have been riding regularly as the weather continues to become ever more beautiful.

These bikes will continue to serve the Beloved in the Desert community for years to come. A huge, huge thank you for the kindness and generosity of Ronnie and Sally on behalf of all the BITD members and Board.

With great gratitude,

—Alex Swain, Assistant for Community Life, Beloved in the Desert Episcopal Service Corps
