Meet God at the Movies

The Meet God at the Movies online conversation group will take up discussion of The Piano Lesson when it gathers at 6:30pm Monday, November 15, via Zoom.

In The Piano Lesson, based on a play about a Black family living in Pittsburgh in 1936, Boy Willie and his friend Lymon reflect different attitudes about self-determination, the process by which a person makes choices about and manages his or her own life.

The Piano Lesson is a 1995 American television film based on the play The Piano Lesson by August Wilson. Produced by Hallmark Hall of Fame, the film originally aired on CBS on February 5, 1995.  Read more from Wikipedia.

Meet God at the Movies gathers via Zoom each third Monday night to plumb films for themes of creation, sin, repentance, and redemption. The group meets for one hour, approximately half of which is devoted to a general weigh-in, and the second half on exploration of the four themes.
