New discussion book

Saint Philip’s anti-racism discussion group will begin 2022 with a new book: We Cry Justice: Reading the Bible with the Poor People’s Campaign. This is a study book on issues of poverty—which disproportionately affects people of color. Pastors, organizers, scholars, low-wage workers, and people experiencing poverty help uncover what the Bible really says about justice and poverty.

Presiding Bishop Michael Curry says this about the book: “In these pages, an impressive group of contributors reminds us that we cannot talk about the love of God without taking seriously the need for justice for all God’s children, especially the poor, the vulnerable, and the voiceless.”

Anyone is welcome to join the anti-racism discussion group, though it is helpful to have read books such as White Fragility, Caste, America for Americans, and America’s Racial Karma, which will provide a sense of the material covered over the past 18 months.

The group meets at 1:00pm each Sunday on Zoom. To register, please click here.
