Next Beloved cohort arrives July 22

Please keep the incoming 2020-2021 cohort of Beloved in the Desert in your prayers! They will arrive in Tucson this coming Wednesday, July 22.

Look for details for a Commissioning for Christian Service via zoom and other opportunities to greet the new Beloveds.

Beloved in the Desert is an Episcopal Service Corps program that calls together young adults for a 10.5-month commitment to prayer, service, and intentional community in Tucson. Corps members serve in local non-profits working to end homelessness, hunger, and poverty in Tucson, live together in intentional community, and pray together and with the community in Southern Arizona. Through their efforts they do the work of justice while being grounded in the liturgy and support of the Church, and they gain the spiritual skills to live in intentional community.

This opportunity for emerging professionals offers time for vocational discernment and the opportunity to seek and serve Christ in Tucson through service and community.

The Corps Members this year will serve at Interfaith Community Services, Habitat for Humanity, the Boys and Girls Club, Rescue Me Tucson, and the Episcopal Campus Ministry at the University of Arizona. These partnerships help to lead Saint Philip’s and our partner Churches into deeper relationship and service with our neighbors.
