New Mosaic Study begins July 29

Mosaic transition: From Pilgrim to Journey

We approach a transition time for Mosaic Community Night on July 22 as it concludes the multi-part discipleship series titled Pilgrim: A Course for the Christian Journey.

Thereafter, starting July 29, join Deacon Leah Sandwell-Weiss & Jane Prescott-Smith for a five-part Mosaic study of Old Testament scholar Walter Brueggemann’s Journey to the Common Good (2010).

All are welcome. In order to receive the link to "attend," please "register" at the bottom of this article.

Mosaic is a regular midweek gathering for fellowship, prayer, and study. It provides a consistent opportunity for people to come together and share the joy of life, sustained in Christ's love.

All Mosaic evenings begin with Evening Prayer beginning at 5:30pm, followed by study from 6:00pm-7:00pm.

Journey for the Common Good

If you plan to attend the Brueggemann study, his book is available on Amazon in either paperback or Kindle versions. In it, Dr Brueggemann explores some ways Scripture can lead us to work together for “the common good that God wills for the world.” He does this through an examination of three texts from the Hebrew Scriptures:  Exodus, Jeremiah, and Isaiah, along with other scripture from both the Hebrew Scripture and the New Testament.

The co-leaders also will provide an article that Brueggemann wrote for The Christian Century magazine, “The Liturgy of Abundance and Myth of Scarcity.”

The course will consist of five one-hour sessions beginning on July 29, from roughly 6:00pm-7:00pm. For the full schedule click here.
