Prayer Shawl ministry

Saint Philip’s Prayer Shawl ministry gathers at 10:30am every Saturday for a hybrid meeting in room 10 and via Zoom. Knitters and crocheters of all skill levels are welcome at these gatherings, and instruction is available for beginners.

This ministry creates prayer shawls for parishioners who are ill, bereaved, or going through a difficult time. Shawls are blessed by clergy throughout the year and then distributed during in-person, pastoral visits.

If you know of a parishioner who would be comforted by receiving a prayer shawl, made with love by fellow parishioners and blessed by clergy, visit the church office Monday-Thursday (and in the summer Tuesday-Thursday) and pick one up; shawls are packaged and ready to go.

To help the volunteers keep track of inventory, please sign for the shawl you take. A clipboard for that purpose is available next to the shawls.

If you would like to register to join the group via Zoom, then click here. Registration is required for every meeting but it’s an easy process and takes almost no time at all. If you have questions, contact parishioners Linda Dewey at ldewey2020@gmail.com or Helene Woodhams at helenewoodhams@comcast.net.
