Meet God at the Movies

If you love movies, please join others at 6:30pm this Monday, October 19, for a discussion of film favorite, Seabiscuit.

Meet God at the Movies takes a theological look at film, with an eye out especially for certain themes: what does the “world of the movie” look like; what is broken (sin); where is there repentance (turning around); and where is redemption, the saving grace of God.

Participants see the movie on their own, then gather by Zoom for a one-hour discussion. Here is the link to join.

Some more about this month’s movie from Wikipedia:

Seabiscuit is a 2003 American film co-produced, written and directed by Gary Ross and based on the best-selling 1999 non-fiction book Seabiscuit: An American Legend by Laura Hillenbrand. The film is loosely based on the life and racing career of Seabiscuit, an undersized and overlooked Thoroughbred racehorse, whose unexpected successes made him a hugely popular media sensation in the United States during the Great Depression. Seabiscuit was nominated for seven Academy Awards.
