Altar Guild jewelry

Members of Saint Philip’s Altar Guild receive beautiful silver crosses in recognition and thanks for service after six years (one year of provisional service and then five years as a regular ministry member).

The silver crosses were originally made by Frank Patania and are now crafted by his son Sam.

A book about Frank Patania has been published and the United Methodist Church will host a book signing on Saturday, November 4. Details are below.

An illustrated presentation by authors Pat and Kim Messier about Frank Patania Sr.’s life (born in Italy in 1899) is now available. It includes the history of the Thunderbird Shop in Santa Fe and Tucson, and the Native American silversmiths who worked there, based on the Messier's book, Legendary Patania Jewelry: In the Tradition of the Southwest

The authors will sign copies of the book after the presentation.
