Hands-on help

From 8:00am-12:00pm on Saturday, February 26, Saint Philip’s youth helped the Desert Museum remove the invasive plant species, buffelgrass. This activity stemmed from a presentation the youth were given by a volunteer from the Desert Museum.

The teens were very interested to learn what they can do to care for creation and confront climate change. They were told that small, local acts make a difference—and they promptly accepted the invitation to help remove bufflegrass.

Removing this invasive species helps lower the risk of fire in the desert. It was hard work and good fun!
