Creation Care cleanup

Do you know that Saint Philip's sponsors the northernmost mile of Campbell Avenue? It may be only a single mile but Saint Philip’s is part of a program that last year alone collected over 2,200 bags of trash from 550 miles of roadway with the help of 1,844 volunteers.

Part of being a sponsor includes volunteering twice a year to spend a few hours collecting trash along both sides of the road from the end of Campbell down to the intersection with Skyline Drive.

The next cleanup will be tomorrow, Saturday, April 13.

The church will provide safety vests, trash bags, and tools to pick up the trash. What’s still needed are volunteers!

The group will meet at Saint Philip’s at 9:00am and then carpool to the end of Campbell Avenue. From there, folks will work their way south to the intersection at Skyline.

Once finished, everyone will return to Saint Philip’s and then go out for pizza.

Volunteers will need to wear long pants, a long-sleeved shirt, and closed-toe shoes. A hat and work gloves are strongly recommended.
