LGBTQ+ Interest Group

We have a story to tell, a story filled with hope and love and God’s grace and mercy. We’ve got a story of God in our lives, a story of ways that Jesus has already been working in our lives sometimes without our even knowing.
— Presiding Bishop Michael Curry

St. Philip’s is a welcoming community. In November 2014, the St. Philip’s Vestry voted to become affiliated with Integrity USA, an independent, “Lesbian, Gay Bisexual, Transgender, Questioning and Allies” (LGBTQ+A) organization of The Episcopal Church of the United States. Most St. Philippians know that we have been a welcoming church for decades, with numerous LGBTQ parishioners, staff and clergy serving in all areas of our parish ministries. The practical effect of this vote is to proclaim this long-standing fact. By taking this step, St. Philip’s is joining over 750 other Episcopal churches in the USA who have declared themselves to be welcoming churches and affiliated themselves with Integrity USA. This group offers fellowship and participation in many welcoming activities and events throughout the year.

St. Philip’s “To Go”

Take evangelism to the streets by offering “Ashes To Go” and prayers to members of the Tucson community in public places.

College and Early Careers

This group is primarily made up of individuals in their late teens, twenties, and early thirties, but there are no age limits - if you are a university student at any level, or are a young adult in the early stages of your career, come join with others from St. Philip's for conversation, food, games, worship, and friendship!

Young Families

Most members of this group are in their late twenties or their thirties, but all young parents and parents of young children are welcome! Gather with other St. Philippians who are navigating life as new(ish) parents, and enjoy making new friends!
