Author Presentation: Carmen Guerrero

The Rev’d Carmen Guerrero is an Episcopal priest and graduate of Sewanee. Her ministry has included serving as a missionary in Honduras, as a parish priest in the dioceses of West Texas and Arizona, as a member of the diocesan staff in Los Angeles and Arizona, and as Jubilee Officer for The Episcopal Church based in New York. Her new book is titled "Tales from the Life of a Latina Episcopal Priest: A Life Journey in the Presence of the Great I AM."

From the book jacket: "This book is especially important at this time [...,] as we experience the hundreds of thousands of Latinos who have struggled against enormous circumstances to achieve tremendous goals educationally, professionally, and socially, when everything around them seemed impossible. It is also unique in that it does not sugar coat realities of poverty, oppression, and injustice but rather has the potential to serve as a model for pressing forward for self and others in our society. It models hope against hope in the life of a Hispanic/Latina woman Priest in the Episcopal Church."
